Baxter St at CCNY is proud to present the work of eight photographers selected for its 2010 and 2011 Darkroom Residency Program. Chosen annually by a jury, these artists are Emile Hyperion Dubuisson, Lauren Fleishman, Theresa Ganz, Cara Phillips, Tina Schula, Motohiro Takeda, Rona Yefman, and Arin Yoon. Each artist’s work presents a diverse range of methods and attitudes, from Theresa Ganz’s photo-collage sculptures to Motohiro Takeda’s reflections on memory and death.
Entering its sixth year, Baxter St at CCNY Darkroom Residency Program provides participating artists with three months of free access to Baxter St at CCNY’s darkrooms, digital work stations, and shooting studio. Baxter St at CCNY Darkroom Residency Program is supported, in part, by Fujifilm; Kodak; public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council; the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York State Artist Workspace Consortium.
