Save the Date + Exhibition Open Call

We are thrilled to announce that we’re hosting our first ever Baxter St Block Party on Saturday, May 11. More details coming soon. Coincided with the Block Party, we’re now accepting submission for a new open call for ‘Correspondence: circulation, collaboration, and community’ — a group exhibition in our project space.

Project Space Exhibition Open Call: Correspondence: circulation, collaboration, community

Call Opens: March 21st, 2024

Deadline: April 24th, 2024

Baxter St invites artists of all ages, backgrounds, and career statuses to participate in an open call for lens-based artworks. All submissions must be lens-based work sized 4 x 6 in — our definition of lens-based art includes photography, collage, mixed media, printmaking, etc., and all selected work will be displayed in an exhibition in Baxter St’s project space from May 11 through May 25, 2024.

This exhibition aims to emphasize the democratic nature of photography and engage members of our community including neighbors, students, program alumni, and more. In addition to being on view in the gallery, the submissions will be archived in an online viewing room on Baxter St’s website.
