Cynthia Greig lives and works in metro Detroit. She received her MFA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as well as an MA in art history from the University of Iowa and BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. Her photographs and videos have been exhibited in the US and abroad, and featured in publications such as ArtWeek, BLINK, Contact Sheet Annual, Fotomundo, Los Angeles Times, New Art Examiner and Photography Quarterly. Public collections with her work include the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, George Eastman House, Light Work, Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Seattle Arts Commission and Smith College Museum of Art. Greig also co-authored the book of vintage photographs, Women in Pants: Manly Maidens, Cowgirls and Other Renegades, published by Harry N. Abrams in 2003.
