Hello! The sun is back in NYC today and I think I'll share some of my more solar-inspired work. This piece is called Mille Fleurs and is based on the Mille Fleurs motif seen in the Unicorn Tapestries from the Middle Ages. Thousands of small flowers were used to fill in the negative space in the tapestries. I made this piece is the same region that the tapestries were made, in what is now France near the border of Belgium. #unicorntapestries #millefleurs @breasouders

Here is a new Film Electric piece. These newer ones are inspired in part by the windows I see at night through my own window. And by the illuminated images seen on phones and other screens every day. @breasouders

Happy New Year! This is Brea Souders, a former Workspace Resident with CCNY. I'll be sharing some of my work with you this week. This image seems appropriate for New Year's Day. It's from my project Film Electric- in these images I create temporary sculptures by binding cut-up photographic film to acetate using static electricity. The forms are then photographed just before they fall apart. @breasouders
