Arin Yoon is a photographer and filmmaker based in New York. She emigrated from Korea as a child, and grew up in northern New Jersey. Yoon attended The University of Chicago, studying photography under Laura Letinsky. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2009, receiving an MFA in Photography and Video. Additionally, she was the recipient of the Aaron Siskind Memorial Scholarship two years in a row.
Her work has been exhibited at the Anthology Film Archives, the Visual Arts Theater, the Visual Arts Gallery, Queens Open Center, Palisades Park Multimedia Center and the Chicago Humanities Institute, among other places. Yoon‘s series, Koreatown, was recently featured in KoreAm Journal.
