Fields is a 2018 Gordon Parks Foundation Scholar and 2020 Light Work Artist-in-residence. Statement:

Working intimately with black queer vernacular photography, my work aims to reconstruct and decontextualize images and ephemera of the past, pushing them past nostalgia. My incorporation of found materials functions as a means of investigating the concealment, fragmentation, and configuration of the black queer body. Through mixed media collages, my utilization of wax serves as a means to blur legibility and to address the intro-cultural and historical suppression of black queer narratives.
